I have asked my colleagues to turn smbv1 back on, until I figure out how to solve this. When they turn smbv1 protocol on, I can mount the share again. IBM does not provide any support for cifs, and I can't find any official document claiming that this client can't be used for higher smb protocols than smbv1.
