Sep 20, 2007 · On Mplayer-Xine and others I receive a notice “Are you trying to play an encrypted DVD without libdvdcss?”. After installing over 100mb of suggested “solutions” I’m only thus far. The only one I can not get is xine extra plugins, since there is no support for amd64. Justin Grams

Jun 26, 2008 · I use mplayer for commercial encrypted dvd and it work flawlessy, but I compile it from SVN, so I can't tell if there's something wrong with Arch' pkg (I doubt it). Besides, mplayer has internal versions of both dvdread and dvdcss so - unless the packager deliberately compiled it with external libraries support - it doesn't need anything else ...

Aug 02, 2014 · Anyways, for being able to navigate DVD menus you must compile mplayer with support for dvdnav. I don't know if that is the case for Slackware's MPlayer, if you have support for that you can use the arrow-keys on your keypad for navigating the menus.
