A quick look at the strings in the library shows that libdvdread_plugin.dylib has "Encrypted DVD support unavailable" in the vlc-2.1.2 copy, but not in the vlc-2.1.1, even though these are both ostensibly libdvdread version 4.2.0

Feb 01, 2005 · dvdbackup woes, Encrypted DVD unavailable help. I've downloaded the source for libdvdcss-1.2.8 and libdvdread-0.9.4 I did the usual, ./configure , make and make install for both of them. They both put the output libraries in the directory /usr/local/lib

Dec 15, 2013 · I did rip to DVD to a folder (right click tray image and "Rip Video DVD to Harddisk..."). Whatever warning message that may have suggested that is a dim memory (I assume it's one of those "Thanks - don't show me again messages), as I haven't ever had to do anything but pop in the DVD, wait a moment, and rip the main title via Handbrake.

Jan 01, 2012 · [SOLVED] Encrypted DVD won't play on VLC I'm trying to play a DVD (Braveheart) with VLC and it isn't working. I've followed the wiki and installed all three packages for playing DVDs.
