Jun 30, 2009 · Windows 7 support will come for ESX 3.5 at the next Update after the RTM of the Operating system. vSphere only has experimental support for the OS as is the case for early release (ie Beta products) you can however install Windows 7 on ESX3.5 by creating a Guest configured as "Vista"

Windows 7 is "Experimental" for vSphere. Windows 2008 R2 will probably be supported in the next minor release. They are usually pretty tight lipped about stuff until it comes out. I wouldn't expect to much official support in ESX 3.5.
