NFS 4.1 provides multipathing for servers that support session trunking. When trunking is available, you can use multiple IP addresses to access a single NFS volume. Jul 30, 2014 · ESXi does not support NFSv4.x, BUT you can certainly turn on NFSv4 on your NetApp (but DO NOT DISABLE NFSv3!!!). NFS servers and clients will negotiate the max supported version based upon the settings for that client and server.

So when I do that, I can mount the export on the ESX, but I cannot write to it: cannot create a new folder or a VM. These is the command I use to configure export: 'server_export VDM_NFS_01 -P nfs /NFS_3' Then it mounts on the server with no issue, but no write access.
