Apr 30, 2012 · No ESXi does not support audio 'out of the box' as you say. I played around with a server 2008 VM and got the vm device in settings but never got playback working. the guide mentions. "After testing out a quick PCoIP session to this Windows 7 VM, found that sound DOES NOT WORK using the HD Audio playback device.

Verify that the PCI devices are connected to the host and marked as available for passthrough.
