I just moved to a new apartment and hooked up my tv, It displays, your HDTV does not support HDCP. Please use the YPrPb component connection to watch television. I had the tv hooked up before I moved to a different cox box with HDMI cables and it worked fine. But now it displays that message, i have already tried different cables, different ports.

Jan 27, 2010 · Currently, the DVI/HDMI connection on the SA 8300HD DVR is active and the HDMI port connects to HDTV’s HDMI input or DVI input with an adaptor cable. Time Warner Cable does not supply HDMI or DVI cables or adaptors. Please keep in mind that your HDTV must be HDCP compliant to use this output/port (HDMI/DVI).

Jan 31, 2005 · I have Cablevision service through a Scientific Atlanta 8300HD box. When I turn on my set (Samsung DLP5063) I get the following message on my screen with no picture. "DVI Alert - Your HDTV does not support HDCP. Please use the YPrPb component connection to watch TV." :confused:

May 28, 2009 · Unable to use HDMI cable with Scientific ATlanta 8300 DVR cable box. When I hook up my HDMI cable I get a msg that says "DVI alert: Your HDTV doesn't support HDCP. Disconnect the HDMI cable and connect using component cables.". I've heard that the pic is better with the HDMI so that's what I want to use.

May 20, 2009 · It means you TV doesn't support HDCP, or High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Your cable box won't output a signal because without HDCP the signal could be copied, to a DVD or other recording device. Basically, its yet another way for the media outlets to control what you do with your media. Theres not really a fix for this.
