Mar 24, 2008 · , I feel so stupid, I searched for "compiz (core) - Fatal: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing" and "GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap", I can't believe so few words can make so great a difference. But sadly, none of those worked. I remember compiz worked for a second, once, maybe it was before I installed fglrx.

The latest pre-release builds of VirtualGL (see link on virtualgl.org) should have support for GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap. I wasn't able to get compiz to run on my system, even without VirtualGL, so I have no idea whether this will be the final fix.
