Patch 1.08 = native widescreen support. This game is exclusively first person. There are no inventory screens or menus that effect gameplay. The game runs consistantly in Hor+ with no noticable singleplayer anomalies. The game's HUD maintains its proper position and size relative to the screen. It does not stretch in widescreen resolutions.

Nov 06, 2013 · FEAR Widescreen support? Alright, I set the resolution of the game to 16:9/10, but the image still look stretched and the subtitles/text are too darn small even after I set HUD to "Large". Does this game support widescreen resolutions?

F.E.A.R. got native support for widescreen in patch 1.8, but I think Extraction Point was based on v1.07 and it never got patched. Launch the game once, and set all of the graphics options as you wish. Set the resolution to 1024x768. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\TimeGate Studios\FEARXP Edit settings.cfg.

Mar 10, 2018 · An extra tip after you've set all display options as you want them Right click 'settings.cfg' -> 'properties' -> tick ' Read-only' -> 'OK'. This won't stop from resetting your resolution if you happen to accidentally click the display options in game, however, if you just quit and restart the game the resolution is back to what you had manually edited them to (1920 * 1080 in my case).
