Correction: Fedora's live CD (Fedora-12-i686-Live.iso) does NTFS with ntfs-3g and does automount the ntfs partition. And, it does have Abi Word which supports DOCX (Office Word 2007). (I tested it on a DOCX test documents.) Scientific Linux does support ntfs-3g, but you must mount it from a command prompt. And, no DOCX support.
