Worst case, if we think that the fact that you have UFS on your system might be causing some weird Apache problem, we will ask you to boot to a Red Hat supplied kernel without UFS support and test Apache again. If the problem is still there, we will support you on your Apache issue whether you are running the UFS module or not.

The rpm of the kernel DOES includes a lot of filesystems modules but NOT a ufs.ko module. Any reason for that? Is this ufs.ko exist in some other rpm ? or is there no ufs support at all in RHEL 4 ? (BTW , I had tried insmod of ufs.ko of FC3 under RHEL (Nahant Update 2) and it does not work ) Regards, MR

Hi, have a system running FC17(using Multiboot), desire upgrade to FC18. Desire to keep existing FC17 partitions. Also FC17 has a / 39GB parition where /boot exists - appears FC18 wants /boot to be a separate ext4 filesystem.

Dependency: ufsutils (UFS filesystems utilities) or equivalent. To add Write support on UFS to Linux, a kernel with the option CONFIG_UFS_FS_WRITE enabled is needed, or at least configured as a module. To the latter case, load the module "ufs.ko" with modprobe (probably located at "/lib/modules/").
