Aug 21, 2009 · You don't need jffs support... If you also use jffs you're able to use 'ipkg' as well (and another feed) AND 'ipkg-opt' with the special ddwrt feed. This should do it for creating opt on mmc (don't forget to make this permanent)

I am normally using ipkg-opt on my USB disk. /opt is on my USB. ipkg doesn't run because I disabled jffs. It could be modified to run on any /opt Oldest first Newest first Threaded

Enable JFFS: Before you can really make use of the local DNS or web server functions, you have to enable JFFS2. This will tell you how. Follow it exactly. It’s expected that the base configuration is already complete. Login to the router web page. Click Administration. Look for the “JFFS2 Support” section.

Jan 06, 2014 · This method can be used for other Asus routers, but I tested it only on my Asus RT-AC68U. Prerequisites: [optional, but highly recommended] Custom firmware to get extended router functionality and better stability (I recommend asuswrt-merlin); [optional] jffs partition enabled - if you want to access transmission from WAN using custom firewall scripts or to…

Optware - DD-WRT Wiki

Update: I discovered since I went to a mega build that this no longer works, because of lack of JFFS on some mega builds. Not to worry, here is a fix for this little problem. First disable JFFS in the GUI on DD-WRT, since it doesn't work anyways, and you can't mount it elsewhere if its active.

To use ipkg also create folder /jffs/tmp/ipkg mkdir /jffs/tmp mkdir /jffs/tmp/ipkg. For Windows: WinSCP can be used to transfer files to and from the router, eliminating the need to pull the card out and put it in a card reader on a PC. For Linux, Mac OS X: Other SCP transfer applications exist.

If starting from scratch, you will need to first format and partition your harddisk (ext2 or ext3), flashdrive or SD card (ext2 ONLY) Linux filesystem. Ext2 should be used for flashdrive because it does not use journaling (like ext3). It is much easier than you think, and can be accomplished via a Linux Live boot-CD: sysrescuecd: gparted utility.

Installing ipkg on Tomato USB for Asus RT-N16 – Just ...

    https://shcherbyna.com/?p=960
Sep 09, 2010 · Tomato web site does not contains any useful “how to” on how to enable ipkg support, instead they send you to dd-wrt wiki, which is quite messy, and it is all about using ipkg on/jffs . I dislike this solution, yes, it is simple – just enable /jffs and you have ipkg working, but I don’t want my router’s flash to wear out.
