Usb keyboars are handled by bios, so they are transparent and work well on FreeDOS. Except: 1) old machines don't have usb keyboard support or are buggy. 2) Notebooks have it working for longer than desktops. As a side note, I can say that on *my* machine I have an adapter, because I use FreeDOS, win98, Linux, Qemu, VMware and Dosemu..

I am trying to create a FreeDOS USB stick that will boot my 2014 X1 Carbon. I am trying to boot it from the USB stick so that I can run the Thinkpad Drive Erase Utility before selling my machine for parts (the keyboard is loosing its mind and randomly sending keystrokes that make it mostly unusable).
