To get freelancer working in widescreen in this case 1680x1050 do the following. 1) Go to my documents > my games > freelancer and open prefoptions.ini in notepad. At the bottom it will say [Display] and underneath size= change it to 1680, 1050 or what ever widescreen resolution you use. Note the space in between the 1680, 1050.

Mar 04, 2003 · Your install of Freelancer now supports widescreen resolutions. Start the game and select one in the options menu. Be sure to restart the game after changing from a 4:3 resolution to a Widescreen.
