I have a standard PC gamepad connected to the SBLive joystick connector, and a USB wheel with joypad buttons on it on a VIA KT133 based motherboard. Sep 26, 2003 · to get my USB joystick I just configure the kernel with usb suport, hid support and joystick support. then compile my kernel as usual and to use the joystick I just do insmod usbcore, then insmod hid, and insmod joydev and it should create the device in /dev/usb/ ... As I can see you are using gentoo. I just edited the file /etc/modules ...

May 26, 2004 · Second, how do I set up my joystick up under linux? I have idea where it is located under /dev, and I have even a slighter idea on how to set it up under DOSBOX / TIE Fighter. I have it pluged into a USB port using a serial to USB adapter and it is an MS Sidewinder Pro. And finally, how do I switch to fullscreen mode in dosbox?

Aug 27, 2005 · most of psx->usb adapters and joysticks are pretty easy to get to working under linux. just add support for usb hid devices and joysticks in your kernel and that's all. to check if your joystick is working try cat /dev/input/js0 and then press some random buttons and see if any output is displayed
