It is no longer necessary to manually install flash. The package adobe-flashplugin will install the latest version of flash (currently 11). The original script is kept below for historical purposes. People install the restricted extras so their media and apps would work. Putting in open-java was a bad move and will only add another step in the customizing process. I had to remove the package from synaptic and install “sun-java6-jre” and the plugin from synaptic to get frostwire running.

Jul 03, 2008 · use the “sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree” line. it works for ubuntu 10.04. just make sure ur package lists are up to date by typing sudo apt-get update. then type sudo apt-get upgrade. if you have to restart afterward do so.
