Sep 14, 2011 · An adult who assumes that a gifted child can make his own decisions about the best schooling or activities for him, just because he’s gifted, is giving too much power to the child. This undermines the child’s confidence in the adult. This puts too much of a burden on the young person. It also undermines the authority of the adult.

Parents of gifted children need. a place in which it’s safe to talk about the special and amazing things their kids are doing. Often parents of gifted kids hear snide remarks, lose friendships, or are made to feel as if they’re bragging when they share about their child’s accomplishments. In a group filled with other parents of gifted kids, they are safe to share. help in understanding their child.
