GIMP doesn't yet support layer comps in PSD, because it doesn't yet have this feature itself. Note that GIMP already has a tagging system for various resources (brushes, gradient etc.). It could be potentially extended to layers and thus provide a superset of what Photoshop allows, thus opening a way for layer comps support in PSD.

May 01, 2019 · PSD is an Ad*be proprietary image format. Gimp can do some basic conversion but lots of PS features are missing. That includes text layers. The ones you have are no longer text but are now raster (bitmap) layers, the same as the base drawing.
