    This support is currently experimental, and must be enabled with the -std=c++0x or -std=gnu++0x compiler options. Having to supply an extra switch is no problem, to support GCC 4.4 and 4.5 under this system (FreeBSD), but obviously it changes the picture!

C1X and C++0x GCC Support : gcc

    https://www.reddit.com/r/gcc/comments/jh7pm/c1x_and_c0x_gcc_support/
    C1X and C++0x are coming soon (at least I'll put money on betting that they'll be here sooner than HURD), and at this point in time GCC doesn't even have full support for C99 (still considered experimental). Is anyone else worried that GCC is going to fall behind when it comes to staying up to date with the standards?

The GNU C Reference Manual

    https://www.gnu.org/software/gnu-c-manual/gnu-c-manual.html
    Although normally described in a C language manual, the GNU C preprocessor has been thoroughly documented in The C Preprocessor, a separate manual which covers preprocessing for C, C++, and Objective-C programs, so it is not included here. Credits

The GNU C Library

    http://www.gnu.org/s/libc/
    The GNU C Library project provides the core libraries for the GNU system and GNU/Linux systems, as well as many other systems that use Linux as the kernel. These libraries provide critical APIs including ISO C11, POSIX.1-2008, BSD, OS-specific APIs and more.
