Mar 22, 2001 · I'm not sure how to boot an H50 in single user mode. I've rebooted with disk 1 of AIX 4.3.3 in the drive and after a long time the LCD is showing 0c45. Perhaps it's booting off of the cd now? I've set cd0 as the first choice on both the Normal and Service mode boot lists. Do I need to hit F5, or some other key combination to ensure it uses cd0?

If it is the H50 from 2000, these are pre-power4 systems, so they will not run AIX 6 or higher (need POWER4 processor or higher for that). However, to test your null modem connection, connect at 9600 baud, no parity - with the power off, but unit turned on. You should get some response - this is the systems interface.
