Nov 24, 2009 · if the hard drive is hooked up to the computer on boot it asks for a password and if you do not enter the correct one, the hard drive does not spin up. connecting it to a usb enclosure shows the hard drive installed and it even shows in disk management but does not show the storage size or even that it has any space since it's password protected

Oct 15, 2015 · I didnt realize that when I was buying because long time ago I bought 500 GB WD HDD and it already included software (and I can use lock-unlock function without problem). Smartware software is installed on my laptop and I tried to install lock-unlock function to new HDD but it doesnt recognize new HDD as External HDD.
