DVI-D can handle 1440p@120hz, but is dependant on the cable, the connectors and the GPU. 1440p@60hz should be non-issue. HDMI cables that can handle 4k@30hz should be able to handle 1440p@60hz. You might also manage with older HDMI cables, but YMMV.

HDMI 1.3 and 1.4 supports 1440p@60 if you have a cable that also supports 1.3 / 1.4, 99% of most new HDMI cables will and are usually labelled "High Speed". In truth HDMI should be your last resort as a cable due the various issues with HDMI whether that being the awful HDCP DRM and generally incompatibility between devices when it should really "just work".
