Hi10P - BakaBT Wiki

CoreAVC in CUDA mode, DXVA and LAV CUVID, since no graphics cards support 10-bit decoding; Note: Using VSFilter (aka DirectVobSub) with Hi10P requires dithering material down to 8-bit first, which can introduce some quantization inaccuracies later on and also uses incorrect levels due to a bug in swscale (when using CCCP/ffdshow or LAV to dither)

Jul 23, 2011 · How NOT to play back Hi10P content: CoreAVC in CUDA mode, DXVA, LAV CUVID as well as the stable versions of VLC and ffdshow do not support Hi10P at the time of writing, because no graphics cards support 10-bit decoding; The SVN build of ffdshow-tryouts now supports Hi10P

Recommended MPC-HC setup for Hi10P on 64-bit Win 7? madVR ...

Aug 06, 2011 · IMO: Use 64bit when you don't need madVR, because it lacks DxVA & 64bit support. Use then 64bit versions of MPC-HC, Xvid (if you want to have a postprocessing), LAV Filters (Splitter, Audio, Video [for Hi10p support, for others use internal MPC-HC decoder with DxVA support])

Sep 23, 2011 · psorcerer Wrote:LAV filters play 10-bit flawlessly, have HW support, and are created by XBMC commiters AFAIK... I'm pretty sure it doesn't do HW acceleration of 10-bit decoding. And that reminds me that bringing Hi10p into the XBMC fold probably isn't going to be as trivial as just patching in the new ffmpeg like I thought.4.4/5(7)

Sep 30, 2011 · Now that most HD encoders are moving to 10bit h264 encodes, most GPU based accelerators using CUDA/DXVA are now useless as they only support 8bit Hi10P - The death of CUDA/DXVA acceleration? - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

Does Fiji support HEVC (H.265) hardware video decoding ...

    https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/does-fiji-support-hevc-h-265-hardware-video-decoding.403225/
Nov 08, 2015 · I read that Fiji and some new AMD APU's supports HEVC video decoding acceleration. I tried to use latest LAV 0.66 with MPC-HC but without success (Not using DXVA in player statistics menu). Then I found page showing output from DXVA checker running on FuryX. It clearly shows "HEVC_VLD_Main" in decode device section.

Testing 10-bit H.265/HEVC decoding with hardware ...

Both support the same QuickSync generation. The only marginal difference seems to be the maximum boost clock of 1.05GHz vs. 1GHz, and yet HD Graphics 515 shows no sign of supporting the Main10 profile for H.264/HEVC (“HEVC_VLD_Main10”), so no GPU-assisted 10-bit decoding! ...
