May 16, 2011 · Section 91(8) of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 gives local authorities the power to fund housing support services that are provided for a person's sole or main residence. This means that people living in owneroccupied housing will also be eligible.

If you currently receive housing benefit, you will not have to pay towards your housing support costs. Once your housing support services have been arranged, the council will have a contract with your housing support provider and will be responsible for paying them.
