I use an external monitor. My daughter got a message on the computer that there was a corrupted file or something so she corrected the problem (maybe not lol) so the next time she rebooted the screen output vertical green lines about an inch or so apart but wouldn't complete booting up and the screen then turned black.

My Dv9000 wont boot up properly. I press the power button and the LEDs come on and I hear the fan blow just a little and the CD drive makes a little noise and then it shuts off. I have just fixed my dv9000, by resting the motherboard on 2 supports, then using a cigerette lighter heated around the 2 nvidia graphic chips,1 minute per chip, from underneath, then wipe away the black soot then connect the motherboard to the display and power up using the battery. works fine now. cheaper than buying a new board.
