The Support Pack includes all the drivers, management tools and management agents for optimal performance and manageability of HP Proliant servers. I’ve seem sites that never use the Support Pack and they couldn’t manage their servers.

Apr 02, 2014 · It doesn't seem to work very well with Server 2008 R2 and up. We've got several DL380 G5 servers and I've loaded Server 2008 R2 on at least three within the last year without any problems. If you can, get a hold of the HP Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP), as it has effectively replaced the ProLiant Support Pack (PSP).

I recently installed Windows Standard Server 2008 R2 with SP1 on an HP Proliant ML350 G5. This server has Sql Server 2008 Express with a few very small databases, and acts as a file and print share server. There's no antivirus installed. No Hyper-V installed. There's two RAID 1+0's configured.

Jan 01, 2013 · But it's not to the new Service Pack for Proliant, it's to Proliant Support Pack 9.1, which is the same driver set. I was happy to try it out as HP Renew updated the Smart Array firmware. If I eventually get my mitts on the DVD ISO I'll try a firmware update too.
