Dear Reader, I downloaded hplip-0.9.10.tar.gz without a proplem; also patch hplip-0.9.10-2 as root ./configure which ended with: configure:error:cannot find libusb support; whereis tell me that libusb is to be found at /lib/libusb.la What now? BTW I have hplip-0.9.5-1.1.20060mdk installed Thanks, Diederic

Jul 17, 2015 · checking for libusb_init in -lusb-1.0... no configure: error: cannot find libusb 1.0 support I followed the directions for installing manually. I had only one minor problem in step 2 c. I had to use yum to install the hplip-gui before I could go on to the next step In step 4 the server was off line so I used a tarball I downloaded a few days ago.

Mar 06, 2009 · Anyway, it will not build at the moment. It stops the Configure with "configure: error: "cannot find libjpeg support". However, Package libjpeg - 6b-37.i386 is already installed. Similarly, attempting to install hplip-3.9.2 stops with warning: Missing REQUIRED dependency: libusb but Package libusb - 0.1.12-5.1.i386 is already installed.

If you want to experiment with HPLIP OS X support, here are some notes I made getting HPLIP 0.9.9 to at least compile and install with OS X using an Intel IMac which should still be valid for 1.6.6a. ---- The next HPLIP release (0.9.9) will at least compile and install on Mac OS X 10.4.4.
