The Hero and Eris are both running a hacked version of Android 1.5 to allow for CDMA support. CMDA is supported natively in 1.6, but neither the Hero or Eris will be updated to 1.6. HTC and Sprint had said the Hero would go to 2.0, but then decided that 2.1 was better. Keep in mind that 2.0 was released with the Droid in November.

May 27, 2010 · Just wondering if anyone is using the HTC Hero Android phone (Sprint) with their 2010 w/NAV? I need to upgrade my phone and the HTC Hero looks like a better choice than the iPhone with its poor AT&T coverage and support, and better than the Palm Pre.
