Jan 17, 2018 · For combustion to occur, there must be three ingredients: 1. Fuel 2. Oxidizer (which “supports” combustion) 3. Source of heat (but not in all cases) Combustion of Hydrogen usually means that the Hydrogen itself is the fuel, and the Oxidizer is usu...

Nov 15, 2008 · Obviously hydrogen will burn in oxygen. There are a few other substances which will support combustion. Those are fluorine, chlorine and to a slight degree bromine. A number of substances will burn in one of those halogens. And hydrogen will burn in each of those three gases, as well.

Hydrogen is a fuel for combustion, but cannot support it in the manner than oxygen can.

The main component of air that support combustion is oxygen. However titanium burns in nitrogen and so does lithium, and also some other active metals such as finely divided aluminium. These form nitrides. Similarly most of these active metals also burn in hydrogen forming hydrides such as lithium.

Mar 08, 2011 · 1)Silver conducts an electric current 2)Hydrogen burns but does not support combustion 3)Mercury had a density of 13.6 g/mL 4)Sugar dissolves in a hot cup of tea. (Is the sweet taste of sugar still there?) 5)Diesel fuel burns in a truck engine.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_internal_combustion_engine_vehicle
A hydrogen internal combustion engine vehicle (HICEV) is a type of hydrogen vehicle using an internal combustion engine. Hydrogen internal combustion engine vehicles are different from hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (which use electrochemical use of hydrogen rather than combustion). Instead, the hydrogen internal combustion engine is simply a modified version of the traditional gasoline-powered ...

Hydrogen is the chemical element with the symbol H and atomic number 1. With a standard atomic weight of 1.008, hydrogen is the lightest element in the periodic table. Hydrogen is the most abundant chemical substance in the Universe, constituting roughly 75% of all baryonic mass.Group: 1: H and alkali metals

Hydrogen is a great, clean-burning fuel source. Just look at its combustion equation: 2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O + Heat Water and heat are created from the combustion of hydrogen and oxygen. I mention all this because Emerson’s Andrew Verdouw had the opportunity to be the keynote speaker at the National Association of Power Engineers […]

Jan 20, 2020 · Hydrogen combustion is the process by which hydrogen reacts with an oxidizing agent and burns. Hydrogen combustion is an exothermic combustion, meaning that it releases heat energy. Endothermic processes, on the other hand, absorb energy. Hydrogen burns based on the chemical formula 2H 2 + O 2 → 2H 2 O, meaning that it reacts with oxygen.
