As I want to use SSD as the OS disk while build raid1 using 2 hdds That's why i want to set the SATA controller as RAID mode. However, I'm not sure whether TRIM will work or not under RAID mode as my Mainboard is rather old with ICH10R and intel MSM only but not RST.

I was an early bird putting two Cosair 128P2 SSD’s in RAID 0 on my Intel ICH10R controller. I deceided to do this, because the Intel documentation showed TRIM support was available on ICH10R raid controller. It was after I had the RAID 0, that the documentation was corrected, to mention that TRIM was not supported in a RAID setting. Bummer.

Nov 24, 2009 · And, with the new RAID drivers and firmware that Intel will be releasing soon for the X25-M, do you happen to know if those drivers will allow through their Toolbox software to manually TRIM the X25-M if it is a non-raid member of the ICH10r. As well, the Gigabyte EX58-UD5 does have a Jmicron RAID controller as well, so I could just use that.
