Jan 14, 2011 · AFAIK savevm command will create qcow2 snapshot, not lvm snapshot, it does not work with lvm or any disk images other than plain file image with qcow2 format. To do lvm snapshot You must do it on the proxmox host using vzdump.

Oct 28, 2010 · I've set up an Ubuntu Server 10.10 VM in VirtualBox and exported it to a .ovf (1.0) file. Since VMware doesn't support the same standard of this file (upon an import it says it cannot parse the "Envelope" tag), I converted it to a .vmx using the ovftool 2.0 with the --lax option. I used VMware Converter to import it into our ESX VMware server.
