Jul 25, 2014 · innerText is supported (supposedly) in every major browser aside from Firefox. textContent is supported in every major browser, including IE from version 9 onwards (check this out on QuirksMode) - this is good, because we only support from 9 onwards, but it still doesn't suit our needs (I'll outline why in a moment).

Sadly, IE7 will probably still support the innerText and document.all models allowing for poor grammar and hard to understand design. Fortunately we have Firefox, which renders web applications and websites identically on Linux, Mac, and Windows....instead of us having follow the legacy model of 'cross-browser' development.
