What was interesting about the machine on display was that it used a pair of GeForce graphics cards running in SLI mode, but on an Intel chipset. According to Intel, this is a special version of Intel X38 paired with NVIDIA's nForce MCP to enable SLI support. There's no word on official SLI support with future Intel chipsets, though.

Oct 11, 2009 · Hello, I have a motherboard Intel X38 Asus P5E64 WAS Pro, there is no possibility official SLI on this motherboard. The only possibility to have multiple GPUs is to use ATI. I always preferred Nvidia to ATI I'd like you to provide manufacturers a license SLI for X38 and X48 chips that consumers can do with Nvidia's SLI.
