Dec 19, 2013 · Hello! it means that subversion 1.8 is supported via the command line client - there is no svnkit for svn 1.8. So, even if you have the 'use command line client' option unchecked, it will still try to use your native cmd client

Hello! I'm using lastest Intellij Idea (13.1.1) on lastest MacOS X (10.9.2) I've installed subversion 1.8 via recently updated MacPorts and seted path to svn (/opt/local/bin/svn) in subversion properties of Idea.

Dec 12, 2011 · We collaborate very closely with the SVNKit team to get SVN 1.7 support done as fast as possible. Tegan, I’m not sure where the SIX MONTH figure comes from. IntelliJ IDEA 11.0 was released in December. Subversion 1.7 support is available in Early Access Preview today, and will be available as a production release in less than a month.

We've seen significant performance problems with the current version of SVNKit and Subversion 1.7, and because of those problems we've decided to postpone the inclusion of Subversion 1.7 support in IntelliJ IDEA/PyCharm. Right now it's planned for inclusion into IntelliJ IDEA 11.1/PyCharm 2.1.

Note that Subversion allows using higher working copy formats with an older server, so even if you have 1.6 svn server, you could use 1.7 or 1.8 working copy.
