https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-a-simply-supported-beam-and-a-continuous-beam
A simply supported beam and continuous beam are the beams having different support conditions. Simply supported beam: A simply supported beam is the one which has hinged support at one end and a roller support at the other end. Hinged support is p...

Here we display a specific beam loading case. Integrated into each beam case is a calculator that can be used to determine the maximum displacements, slopes, moments, stresses, and shear forces for this beam problem. Note that the maximum stress quoted is a positive number, and corresponds to the largest stress magnitude in the beam.

Requirements for Intermediate Moment Resisting Frames A- Beams 1- General Requirements: Requirements of ACI 21.3.2 are applicable for intermediate moment frame members proportioned primarily to resist flexure with factored axial forces ≤ 0.1 fc′ Ag. If such members are subjected to axial forces > 0.1 fc′ Ag , they are treated as beam-columns.

It appears that line beam analysis is only for continuous bridges, and it is not possible to make a multiple-span bridge simply supported. You tried changing the central support to free (rotation) but it is not working. Is there an alternative?
https://engineering.stackexchange.com/questions/8923/why-the-design-of-continuous-beam-is-always-more-economical-than-beam-with-suppo
Assuming that I have a beam that spans across a few supports. I can design the beam as a continuous beam (a beam that is loaded and has more than two supports), or individual beams that each encompass between two supports.. From what I know, the design of continuous beam is always more economical than beam with supports.

Replacing a load-bearing wall with a support beam requires surprisingly few materials. This project is more about labor than materials. Load-Bearing Support Beam: You can create your own beam or you can buy a laminated beam. One example of how to construct a beam is to sandwich two two-by-eight boards on both sides of 1/2-inch plywood of the ...Author: Lee Wallender
