Apr 21, 2010 · I have a RoadTrip in my car that worked with an old iPhone I used as an iPod touch. I now have an iPhone 3GS. I get a message about interference and another about charging. The interference has been non-existent thus far. I may yet get a newer RoadTrip that supports charging, but until then, am I doing any harm to my iPhone by using this device?

I'm trying to get a used iPhone 3GS to charge properly but continually get the "Charging is not supported by this accessory" message. The phone is running iOS 6.1.6. The seller said it had been jail-broken at one point but that that had been undone (restored via DFU mode).
