Jan 19, 2018 · I doubt that Apple made a decision to "put 20 LTE bands in theiPhone 6 and not include band 12." I think it's more likely that the modem they chose, Qualcomm's MDM9x25 Gobi, doesn't support band 12, and that band 12 support was not near the top of the choice criteria, having been overshadowed by vendor relationship history, size, cost, power, general capability, etc. etc.

Moto E 4G LTE (2nd Gen, 2014) XT1527 was released with band 12 but after a few months Motorola disabled band 12 with 5.1 update. Moto G (3rd Gen, 2015) model XT1540 was initially listed with band 12 support but Motorola removed the band a few days later. See this article for more details.

Sep 08, 2015 · The specs posted on Apple.com show that the iPhone 6s does NOT support Band 12. I am a T-Mobile customer, and Band 12 is their main solution to solve coverage issues in rural areas and inside urban buildings.
