IrfanView has separate dialogs for IPTC/IIM and Exif metadata. If you use IrfanView, which is only available for Windows, this means that your captions won’t show up in the Windows ‘Properties’ dialog.

May 13, 2006 · I am looking for a free image browser that includes XMP/IPTC support. I've looked at IrfanView, FastStone, XnView, and a few others. While they support legacy (IIM) IPTC, they don't seem to support XMP/IPTC. I want a viewer I can give to clients that will display XMP/IPTC information in JPG files. Thanks. Guy
