    JavaFX 2.0 supports video - great! But at the moment the official line is it supports "FLV containing VP6 video and MP3 audio". Is there a way to extend this to add in support for more codecs? There's no hard codec that I'd like to support, it's more a case of as many as I can so I'm looking for an extensible method to go about the above.

    Mar 20, 2012 · This is, no doubt, great news. It makes the JavaFX video support finally usable. There is however one thing in the announcement which I do not understand. JavaFX is now using a codec installed in the system but if I understand the issue correctly it refuses to use any other codec equally installed in the system, like for example a wmv-codec or QuickTime mov-codec.
