Nov 26, 2018 · I am running Webstorm 2018.3, Chromium 70.0.3519.0 with JetBrains IDE Support on Windows 10. The plugin shows that it is connected to Webstorm however Webstorm is not able to connect when a debugging session is started.

Are you sure that the web host permits the remote connections to the SQL server? It could be that the server is configured to accept only local connections, hence it works from the web server and not from the machine where you run the IDE. You may need to change the server or firewall configuration to accept the connections from your machine.

It is not a Remote Host setup as the application and IDE are all on the same exact machine (ubuntu). I would have thought port forwarding would have worked very nicely, but the Jetbrains IDE Support icon does not show "connected".

Jul 23, 2016 · I have the JetBrains IDE support chrome plugin installed. Previously I was able to click the debug in WebStorm, and it would launch my browser to the correct URL and connect. Great. But now when I click debug, it just launches a browser with _no_ URL, and I get a message waiting for connection from JetBrains IDE Support Extension.

It's a lot clearer in VS, and I'm not running into "no module found with MVID...." errors all the time. I did upgrade the proj to .NET 4.x, Unity 2018.4.6, Rider 2019.2 to try and fix this, it seemed to help a little. Not enough to deal with the 3.5->4.0 dictionary serialization issues for existing users and the quadrupled build/play times though.
