My company need to run a java webstart app, but in Chrome is keeps downloading, the JNLP. With IE and Firefox it launches properly. My worry is as in browser NAPI java plug in are moving to Java webstart app we will have more and more jnlp web apps, I really don't want to have to move my company and all its customer to IE.

Jun 14, 2017 · This code is able to run as an applet, but modern browsers such as Chrome and Firefox do not allow applets. Is there another way to run Java code on Chrome? I have read that some browsers support Java Web Start, but I don't think Chrome does. If Chrome does can anyone help me convert this applet to a JNLP file?

I have downloaded a .jnlp file with Chrome, but whenever I click "open", absolutely nothing happens! I tried "show in folder" and still nothing happens. The file I am trying to download is a toolbox for matlab! I have absolutely no idea why it won't open - and I'm reasonably new to Windows!
