Application Layer Gateways (ALG) may not have been supported in a previous versions of Junos and thus were disabled in the system as seen below. As support for an ALG is added to future versions these ALGs will be enabled by default which may cause problems with specific types of traffic.

In other word we need to use root system if need to use SIP ALG (NAT) traffic? Why juniper not state this in the public doc because i'm just do migration using LSYS but suddenly SIP ALG not work. They should put the weakness of LSYS in the first place not hidden this important info.

Hi, We are having intermittent problems with VoIP traffic. A lot of the hardware involved has been swapped out at this stage - so the Phone System Manufacturers are starting to question the Firewalls - that this VoIP traffic runs across.They are all Juniper SSG-320M firewalls running firmware Software Version: 6.1.0r3.0
