For 2.6 or higher kernels, ensure that the kernel has been configured to include OProfile, either built into the kernel or as a module. Next, do ./configure --with-kernel-support. As of OProfile 0.9.8, kernel support is assumed, and the --with-kernel-support option is no longer needed nor available. Where can I get the required libraries ?

Apr 19, 2007 · FATAL: Module oprofile not found. Kernel doesn't support oprofile In "make menuconfig" I can't find any options related to profiling that I can enable from the menu. So, I googled around, found an article on linux-mag that suggests this: To enable OProfile in your kernel, set CONFIG_PROFILING, CONFIG_OPROFILE, and CONFIG_APIC to y and recompile.

Hopefully the oprofile userspace gets updated as a z-stream also, otherwise it won't be as useful. Comment 11 errata-xmlrpc 2010-05-05 13:05:43 UTC An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report.

In computing, OProfile is a system-wide statistical profiling tool for Linux.John Levon wrote it in 2001 for Linux kernel version 2.4 after his M.Sc. project; it consists of a kernel module, a user-space daemon and several user-space tools.. OProfile can profile an entire system or its parts, from interrupt routines or drivers, to user-space processes. It has low overhead.License: GPL

It doesn't seem possible for modules to be profiled in this way as they are loaded dynamically, which means that they are missing from the System.map file. A solution would be to build the driver into the kernel. Unfortunately, this does not always work as the system may be designed to run only with the driver built into a module.

Feb 24, 2017 · Kernel logcat support If your device's kernel doesn't have logcat support the MagiskHide process monitor won't be able to see when a process/package is started and therefore won't unmount the necessary folders to hide Magisk and it's core features. You can test for this by running the following command in a terminal app:

MagiskHide Issues Test MagiskHide First thing to do is to toggle MagiskHide off and on again (a reboot might also be necessary). Sometimes MagiskHide stops working temporarily after an update of Magisk or the Manager. If it still doesn't work, make sure MagiskHide is actually working by using a root checker or a root app. Start by making sure the app can detect that your device is rooted.
