Jan 28, 2006 · Been a *long* time since Knoppix was a 2.4 kernel. Knoppix has native NTFS (read) support, and also has captive support for NTFS write. This uses the real XP drivers to handle this - but requires the XP partition to be accessable.

Apr 26, 2004 · Short answer: don't even try. Linux's support for the NTFS file system is flaky and you run a good chance of corrupting your data. If you want NTFS support on a live CD, check out the Linux Defender Live! CD, a Knoppix remaster which includes the Captive project's drivers for reading & writing to NTFS.
