On UEFI Secure Boot. Currently two leading Linux distributions support secure UEFI boot out of the box: Fedora (choose 64bit XFCE or KDE version if you're not sure what you need to download) and Ubuntu. In my own experience Fedora works fine with secure UEFI - I've tested it on my laptop.

Jul 23, 2014 · UEFI came from Intel, the Secure Boot concept “probably” originated from MS. A signed bootloader is required to pass the security check with the firmware. Note that a distro must support UEFI to boot in UEFI mode. The Secure Boot feature is an additional topping.

This was accomplished by these particular companies purchasing digital key that would then allow their bootloaders to pass the UEFI firmware check. With that, those distributions have no problems dealing with Secure Boot.

Mar 19, 2019 · So a considerable number of Linux Distros can be installed with Secure Boot enabled, but far more cannot, so if you have problems, your first action should be to disable Secure Boot in your PC's setup utility, and try again.
