Mar 29, 2010 · What are you asking about? XBMC already has chapter support in navigation. That's what the "skip back" and "skip forward" buttons are for. As far as displaying chapter titles, that's another story. The current workaround is to set chapter markers as bookmarks, which XBNE is supposedly able to do, though I still haven't tested it yet.

Jan 04, 2016 · As I understand it, .m4v includes chapter support that .mp4 does not, at least on Apple devices. I've never downloaded a movie from the iTunes Store, but I've been told they are .m4v files. Although you can just change the extension from .m4v to .mp4, Apple devices probably lose the ability to play back with chapters when you do that.

Jan 02, 2010 · For compatibility reasons it would be best to stick with .mp4 - therefore loosing chapter markings though, but gaining support for any h.264 capable playback machine. Handbrake will automatically use the extension .m4v, if you choose chapter support. Those files are really only suited for usage with the Apple TV.

Mar 25, 2011 · What format are your video files in ? If they're DVD MPEG-2 then Handbrake can convert them to MP4/M4V or MKV, both of which support chapter markers. If you already have MP4 files I believe you can use Subler to add chapters or something like Metadata Hootenanny.
