Oct 03, 2019 · If you see VMX entry then CPU supports Intel VT-x feature, but it still may be disabled. Please run Software Update from Apple to resolve this issue. Note: As article states, VT-x can be disabled due to an outdated firmware what's why we suggest running Software Update as firmware update is a part of it.

From Intel-based Macs: Using VT-x virtualization technology: Intel VT-x technology is enabled on Intel-based Macs. Make sure your Intel-based Mac has all available EFI updates installed; also update any third-party virtualization software. Therefore there is no reason to check the status.

Feb 24, 2009 · which all my research points to VT-x not being enabled. My Macbook Pro has an Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 CPU so it has VT-x capabilites. I have installed ESXi on it and it is running fine. I tried the "hv.enableIfUnlocked = True" setting but it didn't help. By the way, I found the config file in /Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/.

Dec 17, 2016 · If I cold boot my MacBook Pro (late 2015) into Windows 10, VT-x shows as disabled. It seems that I have to boot to Mac OS X first, then reboot into Windows 10, which isn't very good.

May 07, 2019 · Other laptops offer VT-d (Lenovo ThinkPad T430 and others), so the chipset does indeed support it. Just nothing on the Mac side seems to support it (i.e. no VM software is offered with VT-d support on OS X).
