May 27, 2014 · Be aware that if you use the “reset” function in MAME, that brings the score table back to factory default, and if you then exit the game, that table will overwrite any scores you had saved. Also, if you get a good high score, make darn sure you exit the game before powering down your system, otherwise the score won’t get written to disk.

MAME highscore saving. This uses MAME's built-in Lua scripting to provide high-score saving with the standard hiscore.dat file just as older versions did before the feature was removed.. Because this uses MAME's built in scripting language it means you can now save hiscores on a modern default build without having to go through the work of patching it.

Mar 08, 2015 · MAME uses the nvram folder for this, and the format is \NVRAM\GAMENAME\*.NV. The hiscore.dat doesn't save hiscores for games that had this feature. However, as hiscores aren't the only information MAME saves to this file, it is adviseable to delete before implementing hiscore support.

I've been trying to enable the high score in my version of MAME. I don't have a mame.ini file, but there is a plugins folder with a hiscore plugin and a hiscore.dat in it. My issue is that I am using mGalaxy as my machine Front End and I can't pass extra parameters to the mame.exe file. First thing is - how do I enable high score support ?
