Jun 09, 2018 · I want to use Mechanize to simulate browsing to a web page with active JavaScript, including DOM Events and AJAX, and so far I've found no way to do that. I looked at some Python client browsers that support JavaScript like Spynner and Zope, and none of them really work for me.

Oct 10, 2019 · I have this web page that has JavaScript on it, and my Mech program doesn't work. That's because WWW::Mechanize doesn't operate on the JavaScript. It only understands the HTML parts of the page. I thought Mech was supposed to work like a web browser. It does pretty much, but it doesn't support JavaScript.

Hi there, I am using mechanize to do web scraping and while submitting a form, I found the submit button to be of type ImageControl. Since I heard mechanize doesn't support javascript, how would I click on this button? Also, is there any near term plan to extend mechanize to handle javascript, too. Any help would be appreciated! JavaScript is used in web pages for many purposes – for example: creating content that was not present in the page at load time, submitting or filling in parts of forms in response to user actions, setting cookies, etc. mechanize does not provide any support for JavaScript.

The intended use case is rather to simulate the setting of a cookie by client script in a web page (e.g. JavaScript). In that case, use of this method is necessary because mechanize currently does not support JavaScript, VBScript, etc.

Later this may be moved to the DOM plugin's window object, but that should make little difference to you, unless you are writing bindings for another scripting language. BACK ENDS.
