    Does mediaelement.js support HLS? I followed this very simple example, which claims HLS support. I also found this thread also claiming HLS support stating the importance of the mime. However, I could not get any of my streams or any samples I could find on the web to play.

    HLS seems to be supported natively on Android and IOS devices, so it is not needed to use the hls.js on this devices (my theory). So, is it possible, if I detect my site is running on an android devices, that I disable the hls.js support and use the plain player? thanks in advance Frank

    I've gone ahead and completely replaced MediaElement.js with Video.js since Video.js supports both HLS and non-HLS perfectly. Everything seems to be fine now. Please go ahead and close this issue since I am not able to make my own answer as the solution.
